In Gohana, Sonipat, a man who had gone to buy sweets for his family on the occasion of Janmashtami was suddenly struck by lightning when an 11,000-volt high-voltage wire snapped and fell down at the village's main spot. The person present there was electrocuted and died on the spot from the shock. He had arrived at a sweet shop to buy sweets for his children on Janmashtami. This tragic accident, which occurred amidst preparations for the festival, has left the entire village in despair.
