In Rohtak, municipal sanitation workers protested against the government's issuance of a notice and called for intensifying their agitation. They also burned copies of the government orders. The workers warned that if all problems were not resolved, they would stage a panchayat (village council) in Kurukshetra on the 13th to besiege the Chief Minister. Shambhu Tank, District President of the Municipal Employees Union, said that the sanitation workers' strike has been going on for a month.
