In Sonipat, a person died from electrocution on Janmashtami: they had gone to get *ghevar* for the children during the festival when the high-tension line broke and fell down.

A major accident occurred in Kathura village, located in the Gohana area of Sonipat, India, on the day of Janmashtami. Satbir, a 50-year-old man who had arrived at his family's shop to buy sweets, was suddenly struck by a high-voltage electric wire with an intensity of approximately 11,000 volts. He died instantly from electrocution after being touched by the wire. Satbir had gone to the sweet shop to buy sweets for his children on the occasion of Janmashtami. The accident occurred amidst preparations for the festival.
