Fake IPS arrested in Chandigarh, defrauds PhD student of ₹11.50 lakh: AI created a photo; posed as RAW agent and offered marriage; hails from Haryana.

A young man, who falsely identified himself as an IPS officer, sometimes an Excise Department Assistant Commissioner, and occasionally a RAW agent by posting AI-generated uniformed photos on matrimonial sites, lured a PhD student from Chandigarh into marriage. After gaining the woman's trust, the accused took approximately ₹11.50 lakh in cash, 6-7 tolas of gold jewelry, and a laptop from her. Furthermore, citing security concerns, the accused withdrew the woman's documents from her bank account.
