In Chandigarh, a young man posing as an IPS officer robbed a PhD student who was searching for a match on a matrimonial site. The identity began with a photo of the IPS uniform and spread to her family, leading to marriage discussions. Subsequently, the accused started robbing the woman by telling her a false story about his mother's illness. He claimed that her father did not respect their parents and harassed them, which caused his mother to remain ill.
