The police of Jaitpura police station in Varanasi have destroyed opium worth Rs 10.80 crore. The team had reached the central opium and salt factory located in Ghazipur with recovered opium from a case. Here, the opium was disposed of as per the rules. After that, the team returned to Varanasi. The team, which arrived with ACP Chetganj Shubham, informed that under Operation Dahan, launched by UP Police, 558 kg of opium seized in 2012 was destroyed.
