Floods in 14 cities of UP, water enters schools and temples: Many areas of Lucknow are submerged; 30 villages in Gonda have become islands, 25,000 people stranded.
Despite the rain ceasing in Uttar Pradesh, rivers are overflowing. Fifteen rivers, including the Ganges and Sharda, are flowing close to the danger mark. In Lucknow, the water levels of the Sai and Gomti rivers are continuously rising, with low-lying areas submerged up to 5 feet. Roads have been flooded, and in Barabanki, water has even entered government schools and temples. In Gonda, the Ghaghra River is flowing 26 cm above the danger mark, turning 30 villages into islands, and roads are being inundated.
