In Varanasi, the husband and mother-in-law who murdered a married woman have been sentenced to 14 years in prison. The judge, along with the Deputy Superintendent of Police, and 8 witnesses were present; after 8 years of trial, they received their sentences.

The ADJ Court-6 of the Varanasi District and Sessions Court delivered its verdict after hearing a 8-year-old case. The court sentenced the accused husband and mother-in-law to 14 years of rigorous imprisonment for the murder of a married woman. The sentence of the convicts will not be ordinary, but rigorous imprisonment. The court also imposed a fine of ₹10,000 each on both of them. The husband and mother-in-law had been harassing the married woman in Dehaj over demands for ₹1 lakh in dowry and a refrigerator.
