In Uttar Pradesh, the continuous monsoon rains have caused rivers to overflow. In Sitapur, which is adjacent to Lucknow, water from local rivers is flowing over small bridges. Roads are submerged, and several bighas of crops have been flooded. Villagers are forced to travel by tractor. Following record rainfall in Mahoba, all 6 dams along the UP-MP border, including the Lahchura Dam, have overflowed. In Lalitpur, water is being released from the Govind Sagar Dam by opening its 4 gates.
