The electric bus service in Varanasi has been operating at a loss for the past 29 months. The buses generated an income of ₹17.84 crore, while ₹53.57 crore was spent on operations, resulting in a total loss of ₹35.72 crore. Approximately 66.7% of the total expenditure could not be recovered from revenue. During this period, from April 2024 to August 2026, 68 lakh 22 thousand 264 passengers have traveled by e-buses.
