Cyber fraud in Varanasi: Petrol pump businessman defrauded of ₹3.5 million, accountant sent as owner in a message.

In Varanasi, cyber fraudsters defrauded a petrol pump owner, Neelam Sinha, of 3.5 million rupees. The fraudsters first sent a message to the owner's accountant's mobile phone, and then had the money transferred to different bank accounts from the petrol pump manager. After the incident, the accused posed as Crime Branch officers, intimidated and threatened the manager, and asked him to contact them at the office. Based on the complaint, the Sigra police have registered a case in the matter.
