Case against 4 people including husband in Sonbhadra: Wife accuses them of using casteist slurs and assaulting her; demanding ₹2.5 million as dowry.

A young woman from the Turra area of Pipri police station in Sonbhadra, who belongs to a Scheduled Caste community, has accused her husband, a constable, and four members of her in-laws' family of using casteist slurs, assaulting her, verbally abusing her, and threatening her. The woman also accused her husband of marrying another woman without a divorce and demanding ₹25 lakh as dowry. Based on the complaint, Pipri police have registered a case against the constable and four others for dowry harassment and other charges under the Scheduled Castes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
