The murder of SP district secretary Pawan Yadav in Prayagraj was a contract killing. This murder was carried out by hired shooters who were paid a sum of 5 lakhs for the job. The killers had been conducting reconnaissance for 1.5 months and brought in shooters from Bhadohi for the shootout. This revelation came during the interrogation of Vinod Kumar Yadav, the alleged mastermind behind this murder, on Wednesday. He told the police that Pawan was previously the head of his own village.
