In Varanasi's Shivpur, a Ramlila was staged on Thursday with a moving portrayal of the breaking of Shiva's bow, the dialogue between Lakshman and Parashuram, and the marriage of Sita and Rama. In Janakpur, at the Sita Swayamvar ceremony, several kings attempted to lift Shiva's bow but were unsuccessful. Upon receiving orders from Maharishi Vishwamitra, Lord Ram lifted his bow and tried to hit it, but it broke. As soon as the bow was broken, the entire Leela complex resonated with chants of Jai Shri Ram.
