In Uttar Pradesh, amidst the rains, eight rivers in the state are flowing above the danger mark. Water has entered many villages and roads have been submerged. Following the release of water from Nepal, the Gandak (Narayani) River in Kushinagar is flooded, affecting 1,400 families in two villages. 600 families are forced to leave their homes and take refuge on embankments. Water is flowing over small bridges in Gonda and Badaun. People are struggling to escape amidst 2-3 feet of water.
