Rajkumar Pal, the star player from Karampur who led the Indian hockey team to a gold medal at the Asian Games in Ghazipur, is recovering from an injury these days. He suffered an injury to his left thumb after being hit by a ball during the match against Bangladesh. He continued playing after treatment during the tournament. However, he was forced to withdraw from further matches due to increasing discomfort. A re-scan revealed that the bone was not fully healed, and he has been ruled out of the Asian Games.
