In the Mau's Doharighat police station area, a 65-year-old man died after being hit by an unidentified vehicle on the Varanasi-Gorakhpur four-lane highway early Wednesday morning. The accident occurred near Farsara Khurd village. Police and an ambulance arrived at the scene upon receiving information from passersby, but the elderly man had already passed away by then. Police tried to identify him with people in the vicinity, but he could not be identified immediately. Police brought the body to the police station in an ambulance.
