For the first time in BHU, heart bypass surgery through a keyhole incision: operation performed with an 8-centimeter incision; patient returns home on the fifth day.
A new facility has been launched in the field of heart surgery at Sir Sunderlal Hospital, Banaras Hindu University (BHU). For the first time, minimally invasive coronary artery bypass surgery (MICS CABG) was successfully performed in the hospital's Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery (CTVS) department. This technique is commonly known as keyhole heart surgery. A notable aspect of this surgery was that instead of opening the patient's chest through a traditional method, it was done on the head.
