In Uttar Pradesh, a rain alert has been issued for Varanasi and Prayagraj, along with 23 other districts, today, Wednesday. According to the Meteorological Department, monsoon clouds have disappeared from western UP. Rain clouds are hovering over eastern UP. Due to the rain, all schools up to class 8 in Lakhimpur and Bareilly have been closed. All schools in Varanasi from pre-primary to class 5 will remain closed. Schools for classes 6 to 12 will operate from 9 am to 3 pm.
