An attempt was made to kill a liquor businessman from Lucknow; FIR filed. Vaibhav, his wife, and mother are named in the threat letter in the name of codeine mafia Shubham, who is currently in jail.

A case has been registered at the Manduadih police station in Varanasi against Arvind Kumar Jaiswal, a liquor businessman from Lucknow. The case is filed in the names of Vaibhav Jaiswal, his wife Shivangi, and mother Radhika, who are associates of Shubham Jaiswal, a member of the codeine cough syrup mafia. It is alleged that when they demanded their outstanding dues of 8 lakh rupees, first Shubham Jaiswal was threatened. Later, when he came to demand the money, he was held hostage and assaulted.
