An IIT-BHU professor's research on extracting gold and copper from e-waste has demonstrated the ability to recover metals from PCB waste. This was presented at an international conference in Russia.

Professor Kamlesh Kumar Singh from the Department of Metallurgical Engineering at IIT-BHU, Varanasi, presented his research in Russia. His research is related to the recovery of precious metals from e-waste. At an international conference held in Russia, he stated that electronic waste can be a significant source of valuable metals while posing a threat to the environment. The research involves the recovery of precious metals from delaminated printed circuit boards (PCBs).
