Priest Drowns in the Ganges at Manikarnika Ghat, Varanasi: Locals Say He Had Been Stressed for a Few Days; NDRF Engaged in Search

On Wednesday, a 40-year-old priest, Ravi Sharma, drowned in the Ganges River after entering deep water while bathing at Varanasi's famous Manikarnika Ghat. Since the incident, his family has been inconsolable. Upon receiving the information, police and water police teams arrived at the scene and began searching for the missing priest. According to reports, Ravi was performing puja and had been distressed for 9-10 days. He resided in the Kali temple area of Manikarnika Ghat.
