The 'Kavach 4.0' will be installed on the tracks in the Varanasi division of NER, which will curb everything from head-on collisions between trains to overspeeding.
To further strengthen train safety, Indian Railways has approved the installation of 'Kavach 4.0' on a 614.75-kilometer railway track in the Varanasi division of NER. This project will cost approximately ₹223 crore. Additionally, it will expand the indigenous Automatic Train Protection system to those sections of the Varanasi division where work is still pending. 'Kavach' is an indigenous technology developed by Indian Railways, with the primary objective of signaling a train.
