In Raebareli, SP workers clash with police: A dispute over an election commissioner's effigy led to a scuffle; several workers were detained.

The Samajwadi Party protested against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar on Sunday. This protest took place in several cities across Uttar Pradesh. SP workers demanded Gyanesh Kumar's resignation and also burned his effigy at several locations. In Raebareli, hundreds of SP workers took to the streets and chanted slogans. Following this, the workers reached Shaheed Chowk located at Degree College intersection. Here, an effigy of Gyanesh Kumar was burned. The burning of the effigy is in connection with a demand for his resignation.
