Amidst the SIR controversy, the Chief Election Commissioner cancels his visit: The Jain-Ji dialogue was scheduled to take place in Meerut-Varanasi, but a new date has not been set.

The visit of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar to Meerut and Varanasi has been postponed for the time being. He was scheduled to interact with Gen-Z at CCSU in Meerut on September 25, followed by a program to engage with youth in Varanasi on September 28. New dates for both events have not yet been determined. A regional conference of Electors' Literacy Clubs (ELC 2.0) and ECI-Net was also proposed in Meerut. It would have included educational sessions from Western Uttar Pradesh.
