Retired professor defrauded of ₹1.72 lakh in Panchkula: Google search led to Blinkit customer care number, phone disconnected as soon as ₹10 was paid.

Finding the customer care number for the Blinkit app on Google Search Engine in Panchkula proved costly for an 82-year-old retired professor residing in Sector-20. According to the victim, cyber fraudsters withdrew ₹1.72 lakh from the elderly man's bank account. The cyber fraudsters introduced themselves as customer care representatives and made him make an online payment of ₹10 in the name of registration. After that, the money was withdrawn from the account. The Cyber Crime Police Station, Sector-20, has registered a case against the fraudsters.
