In Punjab, Raksha Bandhan is being celebrated with great fanfare. Singer Ranjit Singh Baba got his sister to tie the Rakhi, while Education Minister Harjot Singh had his sister tie the Rakhi for him. In Ludhiana Jail as well, prisoners were visited by their sisters to tie them the Rakhi. They tied the Rakhi to their respective brothers in the presence of the police. Many sisters hugged and cried for their brothers. A young man arrested in a drug smuggling case said with tears in his eyes that they used to get it tied at home earlier.
