12 trains from Chandigarh have been cancelled, and many will operate from Mohali. A 36-day block has been scheduled for station reconstruction. Trains will be diverted to alternative platforms until October 10th-15th due to this disruption.

The redevelopment of the Chandigarh railway station is likely to increase passenger inconvenience. The railways have approved a 36-day block for construction work, which will be carried out in three phases. During this period, work on strengthening pillars and installing roofs over the foot overbridge at the station will be done. Due to the construction work, 12 trains running from Chandigarh and Kalka have been cancelled, while several trains are being diverted to Ambala and Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar instead of Chandigarh.
