In the final phase of the monsoon season, 14 cases of dengue were reported; a 21-year-old mason from Panchkula died at PGI; Surajpur became a new hotspot.
As the monsoon season winds down, vector-borne diseases (dengue and malaria) have started to spread in the district. There has been a sudden surge in dengue cases over the past week, causing panic among the health department. So far, 14 confirmed cases of dengue have been reported in the district, with more than five of these cases emerging in just the last week alone. Following the death of a 21-year-old man from dengue in Pinjore, the administration has gone into alert mode.
