Relief trucks bound for Nepal are stuck in Chandigarh: The Governor flagged them off on Tuesday; a fine of ₹20,000 is levied without proper documentation.
The relief materials sent by the Punjab Red Cross for flood-affected people in Nepal are still standing at Manimajra in Chandigarh even after being flagged off. The trucks were flagged off from Punjab Lok Bhavan on Tuesday by Chandigarh Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria. All three trucks carry prepared rations, clothes, and essential daily items for the flood-affected people. The first consignment of relief material is priced at 10 lakhs.
