In Mohali district's Lalru, farmers blocked the Ambala-Chandigarh National Highway on Tuesday in protest against not receiving sufficient electricity for agricultural motors. The farmers were protesting outside the Powercom EXN office under the banner of Bharatiya Kisan Union Ekta Ugrahan. After failing to receive a satisfactory response from officials, the farmers staged a blockade on the highway. The farmers were unwilling to accept verbal assurances and demanded an immediate supply of electricity.
