The cancellation of a confirmed flight from Chandigarh to Hyderabad, just three days before departure, and the subsequent failure to provide a full refund to an elderly passenger have resulted in significant losses for the travel agent and insurance company. The District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (Panchkula) has heard the complaint of 70-year-old Kashmiri Lal Singla, a resident of Sector-15, against the travel portal 'Trip O Deal' and 'Eko General Insurance Limited', alleging negligence in service and unfair business practices.
