The High Court has granted permission to Rajoana for an eye operation: convicted of Beant Singh's murder, he has been imprisoned in Patiala Jail for over 30 years.

Balwant Singh Rajoana, who has been imprisoned in Punjab's Patiala Central Jail for over 30 years, approached the High Court on Wednesday seeking treatment for his eyes. Rajoana, convicted of murdering former Chief Minister Beant Singh, had requested the HC to allow him to undergo surgery on both eyes at Dr. RS Randhawa Eye Hospital in Patiala. The HC has granted permission to Rajoana to undergo eye surgery. The court stated that he can now proceed with his treatment at PGI Chandigarh.
