The depression has been reduced by medication, but still, a sense of emptiness remains. One doesn't feel like talking to anyone. Being among people, one feels lonely. A study by the Department of Psychiatry at PGI Chandigarh has revealed that even after getting relief from depression, it is not necessary for the patient's loneliness to disappear. In a research conducted on 110 patients for three months, out of 35 patients who had completely recovered from depression, 16, or 45.7%, felt that their loneliness had not completely gone away.
