A leachate plant worth ₹5.4 crore will be built at the Chandigarh dumping ground: PEC has approved the design, clearing the way for an LTP (Leachate Treatment Plant); work will begin after the monsoon season.
The path has been cleared for the construction of a proposed ₹5.4 crore leachate treatment plant (LTP) in the tail-end area of the Dadu Majra dumping ground. Punjab Engineering College (PEC) has conducted a technical review of the plant's design and given it a go-ahead. The Municipal Corporation can proceed with the project. Ground work is expected to begin at the site after the rainy season ends. The proposed plant will have a capacity of 250 KLD (kilolitre per day).
