Strict action will now be taken for littering in Chandigarh. The Municipal Corporation has tabled a new proposal for Solid Waste Management 2026. Under this, there will be a fine of ₹500 for littering in public places, ₹15,000 for throwing garbage in the open, and up to ₹15,000 for dumping household or shop waste in public dustbins.
