In Chandigarh, CBI has been petitioned to recover ₹55 lakh; complainants have approached the court, claiming they were offered bribes due to fear of arrest and are facing an investigation into assets disproportionate to their known income.

About two years ago, the CBI arrested Vishaldeep, a then-Assistant Director posted in ED Shimla, and his brother Vikasdeep in connection with a case involving a bribe of ₹2.5 crore. During the action, the CBI recovered ₹55 lakh from Vikasdeep's possession. This amount has been in the CBI's custody for nearly two years. Now, Bhupendra Sharma and Rajnish Bansal, who filed the complaint in the bribery case, have approached the Chandigarh CBI to get their money back.
