In the Chandigarh PG fire incident, charges have been framed against the building owner and operator: The trial will take place after 6 years, resulting in the deaths of 3 students; the hearing will be held on October 27th.
Nearly six years after the horrific fire that occurred in a PG in Chandigarh Sector-32 in 2020, the path to trial has been cleared. The district court has framed charges against the house owner Gaurav Aneja and PG operator Nitesh Bansal under Section 304A of the IPC. Both accused will now face trial for causing death due to negligence. The next hearing in the case is scheduled for October 27th. This fire incident involved three students, Rhea, Pathi, and Muskan.
