A path has been prepared for further discussions between the government and Sri Akal Takht Sahib regarding the Jagat Jot Sri Guru Granth Sahib Satkar (Amendment) Act-2026, which is related to cases of sacrilege in Punjab. A meeting of the 7-member Coordination Committee formed by the Punjab Government will be held on October 6th at 12 noon in Chandigarh. The committee will discuss the suggestions given by Sri Akal Takht Sahib regarding the Act. The committee will review various provisions of the Act.
