The CBI's prosecution has been approved for the trial of 6 accused in the Chandigarh Smart City-CREST scam, alleging misappropriation of ₹116 crore in funds. The four accused include former CFO Nalini.

The CBI has achieved significant success in the cases of alleged scams worth crores of rupees that took place in Chandigarh Smart City and Chandigarh Renewable Energy and Science and Technology Promotion Society (CREST). The court has granted permission to prosecute a total of six accused in both cases. These include Nalini Malik, former Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the Smart City project, four others, and two accused from the CREST case. The CBI has approved the prosecution.
