The month of September marks the preparations for the festive season. Consequently, a hike in Goods and Services Tax (GST) has been recorded this time as well. According to a report released by the Ministry of Finance, a total of ₹238 crore was deposited into the government treasury from GST in Chandigarh in September 2026. In September 2025, this figure was ₹229 crore, indicating a growth of approximately 4%. On average, ₹7.93 crore worth of tax was deposited into the government treasury every day in September.
