The Punjab government will provide loans up to 7.5 million rupees for employees to build houses, with no processing fees and interest-free bank accounts.

Regular employees of the Punjab government will no longer face difficulties in building their own homes. The Punjab State Cooperative Bank Limited, Chandigarh, has launched a new initiative for regular employees of the Punjab government, as well as those working with boards, corporations, public sector undertakings, and apex cooperative institutions. A special concessional housing loan scheme has been introduced for them. Under this scheme, employees can avail home loans up to a maximum of 75 lakh rupees based on their salary.
