The Heritage Committee has approved changes to the Chandigarh Master Plan, which will facilitate industries and businesses. A proposal for stilt parking in new government flats is also included.
The proposed amendments to the Chandigarh Master Plan-2031 were discussed in detail at a meeting of the Heritage Committee on Thursday, considering the changing urban needs of Chandigarh. The meeting was chaired by H. Rajesh Prasad, Chief Secretary of UT and Chairman of the Chandigarh Heritage Committee. Under the proposed amendments, consideration was given to simplifying and making planning rules more practical in different phases of the city.
