Crime Branch ASI commits suicide after not getting a long leave: He had requested 30 days, but only 5 were sanctioned; he was supposed to attend his niece's wedding in Sonipat.

ASI Satpal Singh (50), a resident of Jhajjar in Haryana, committed suicide in his government-provided house. Satpal Singh was employed as a storekeeper in the Chandigarh Crime Branch. He had returned home after finishing his duty on Tuesday afternoon. Other family members had gone to Sonipat. His wife called him several times at night, but the calls went unanswered. Following this, his wife sent a neighbor to the scene, where Satpal was found hanging. The neighbor immediately informed the police.
