In Chandigarh, CBI demanded ₹55 lakh back from the complainant who approached the court, claiming he had asked for a bribe due to fear of arrest. The court is investigating the case of disproportionate assets.

For nearly two years, complainants have been approaching the special court of Chandigarh CBI to recover ₹5.5 million from the CBI's custody. Both complainants have filed petitions in court seeking the return of the money. The petition will be heard on September 28th. In this case, the CBI had arrested Vishaldeep, the then Assistant Director of ED Shimla, and his brother Vikasdeep about two years ago in connection with a bribery case involving ₹25 million.
