Following the arrest by the CBI in the case of a sanitary inspector, Shakti, demanding a bribe of 1.4 million rupees from a contractor working with the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation on JCB-tipper work, several senior officials of the Municipal Corporation are now under the CBI's radar. Sanitary Inspector Shakti had been harassing the contractor to pay him a bribe of 100,000 rupees every month since July 2025. According to the contractor, despite some bills being paid, he was being harassed.
