The ED claims that there is a scam of ₹10,000 crore in GMADA. It was found that the price of land was reduced before auction in Punjab, and hawala chats were received from mobile phones.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted searches at around 26 locations in five cities, including Punjab and Chandigarh, for approximately 50 hours until Thursday. According to ANI, the action was part of a money laundering case related to Tirupati Infraprojects, which also involved offices of GMADA and the Housing Department of the Punjab government. The ED alleged that the reserve price of GMADA's land was allegedly reduced before the auction, resulting in an estimated loss of around 10,000 crore rupees for the Punjab government and GMADA.
