A Chandigarh police jawan has successfully climbed the Abhi village peak, hoisting the tricolor on top. They reached the summit amidst a snowstorm and were the first to arrive from the Union Territory (UT).

Sachin Kumar, a mountaineer and Everest summiteer from the Chandigarh Police, hoisted the tricolor on Mount Abi Gamin, which is 7,355 meters high. Sachin successfully reached the summit on the morning of September 17, 2026, amidst challenging weather and icy conditions.
