Fake IPS arrested in Chandigarh - Phd student duped of 11.50 lakhs: AI created photo; posed as RAW agent and promised marriage; hails from Haryana

A young man who posed as an IPS officer, then an Assistant Commissioner in the Excise Department, and finally a RAW agent on a matrimonial site by uploading AI-generated photos of himself, has tricked a PhD student from Chandigarh into marrying him. After gaining the woman's trust, the accused took approximately ₹11.50 lakh in cash, 6-7 tolas of gold jewelry, and a laptop from her. Furthermore, citing security concerns, he withdrew the woman's bank account details.
