NH-5 has become a stunt track for racers: fear among morning walkers and cyclists in Panchkula due to bikes racing at speeds of up to 150 kmph.

In Panchkula, where city dwellers expect peace and tranquility on a weekend morning, the Zirakpur-Kalka-Shimla Highway (NH-5) becomes occupied by high-performance bikers. Between 5 am and 9 am, stunt-loving riders from Delhi-NCR, Chandigarh, Punjab, and Haryana create chaos here like a racing track. Defying the 50 km/h speed limit around toll plazas, these riders speed at 120 to 150 km/h.
